Personal Web sites used to be important. Back in
he Web's Wild West days, there were noble
trailblazers, plucky little homemade shrines to Star Trek and
The Anarchist Home Cookbook, which became the bread
and butter of the internet. Then along came
E-commerce and AOL Time Warner,ICQ and free email. Suddenly
Jimmy McNobody's crappy little collection of
self-penned inspirational haikus and rare Lilian Gish jpegs
was yesterdays news. On March 17, Tripod shut down
hundreds of free hosted sites, without warning or
subsequent explanations. Most of the sites deleted were fans
sites, including a large number of fan fiction ( fan
fiction being stories or scripts written by fans that
feature copyrighted characters). When pressed tripod only
said they went after pages that were in violation of
terms of service. of course, Tripod's terms of service
are as long as they are vague. Later Tripod addmitted
that they were deleted accidently thanks to a
"technical difficulty" which explains to some degree why a
dozen anti-Malaysian-government sites along with Philip
Seymour Hoffman sites were booted off. The sad thing is
this type of whole sale destruction is surprisingly
common. It happens without the simple courtsey of an
      explanation or warning.

issue. i hope i haven't somehow missed out on it, but i haven't seen
anything about here, the only place i know of where you promote it or
on grrrlstyle, the only place i can remember that you sell it. will
