      MetaText & UltraText

      "Meta-text" :
      Text describing or explaining another text.
      Language is a code for clarifying yet obscuring itself.
      All the dictionary's words cross-reference to each other.
      All of their meanings cross-reference each other.

      Language is an ghostly world of mere arbitrary labels,
      defined by the unenlightened for the worldly.
      How then can it truly explain this world and beyond?
      It is but a finger that points to the Truth; it is not the Truth.

      Words can have multifarious yet limited meanings,
      thus open to conceptual trappings and misunderstanding.
      Understand this and use words like a raft,
      to be casted away not clung if to step ashore.

      Words are a window for you to see through,
      lines for you to read between.
      Do not see only the window, or only the lines.
      Or even the sutras would become traps instead of the way to liberation.

      How can experience of reality (Enlightenment) be reduced to words?
      If words can bring Enlightenment, the Buddhas would speak on and on.
      But there are no words that bring Nirvana;
      they can only point the path.

      You cannot even write what you are feeling now.
      You can only use limited adjectives and synonyms which describe their nuances.
      The rest is up to the reader's imagination and delusion.
      Words do not fully convey or represent anything; they can only attempt.

      "The ultimate Truth is beyond words.
      Doctrines are words. They're not the Way.
      The Way is wordless. Words are illusions...
      Don't cling to appearances, and you'll break through all barriers..."

      Thus did Bodhidharma utter.
      This is "Ultra-text" : Text that points beyond text.
      Enough words said.
      May these words lead us beyond themselves.
