Teisho 10.30 AM today - all welcome!
- View SourceNelson Foster will be giving a teisho (presentation) today at 10.30 AM.
Teisho is free and open to the public. Please arrive by 10.20 AM and wait in the
carpeted room to be ushered into the zendo.
Please note that the regular Saturday morning sit and sutras are cancelled due to the
Zazenkai, 5.30 AM - 3.30 PM.
It is helpful to Zazenkai participants if visitors for Teisho observe the caution about dress: If possible, wear dark, loose-fitting, unpatterned, modest clothing (e.g., prefer no shorts,
scooped necks, bare midriffs, logos, bright colors, etc.).
Nelson Foster is a Dharma Heir of Robert Aitken, and since the death of Pat Hawk he is now the senior heir in the Diamond Sangha lineage. He was given full transmission by Aitken in 1989, the same year as Pat Hawk. He is a long time friend of ZDS and was the teacher for our sangha in the late 1980s, before Pat Hawk took over in 1989.
Zen Desert Sangha is located at:
3226 N. Martin Ave.
One block west of Campbell Ave.
One half block north of Ft. Lowell Rd.
Everyone is also welcome to join us for a potluck supper with Nelson at 6 pm Saturday at the home of Helen Amerongen. Call 243-3402 for directions.
There will be a discussion/Q&A with Nelson Sunday morning, beginning with one round of zazen at 9.30 AM, then Q&A at 10. Again, all welcome!
