Many thanks to everyone who participated during October in the survey regarding the possibility of selecting a name for Zen Desert Sangha's zendo.
Based on that survey and follow-up discussion at the ZDS Annual Meeting on October 23, the list of 24 names has been reduced to 7. We now want to find out how sangha participants feel about each of these names -- as well as the idea of leaving the zendo as-is with no name. A brief survey form has been set up for your response.
Please take a few minutes -- prior to December 1 if possible -- to complete the survey located at:https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dDRPd2hwaV9YSEpqM0VqYV9ycGpSR1E6MA
All submissions are anonymous. Paper copies of the survey are also
available at ZDS for those unable to use the on-line version. Your participation is appreciated!A little background:
Since November 2008 when the ZDS Board of Directors authorized a committee to explore the idea of naming the zendo, many names have been suggested. This list was culled down to 24 candidates through a process where sangha members were asked to identify the top three names they most preferred.
Sangha participants were then invited to express their preferences regarding these names in an on-line and paper survey during October. The aggregate results were presented and discussed at the 2010 Annual Meeting.
If you were unable to attend the annual meeting and would like the results of the previous survey to be emailed to you, just ask by replying to this message.
