Subject: [Z_Scale] Alex's Big Move
Best wishes on your move. Not, trying to "teach my grandmother how to suck
eggs, but this is what I did moving from Germany to the US.
I removed the legs from my layout. Then I made new "Legs", that stuck up 6"
taller than the highest part of the layout (bolted to the outside of the
frame). Then I ran 1"x2"s to connect the new "legs".
After that, I stapled cardboard to the outside sides. Next, I filled the
box formed by the layout and these sides with foam peanuts. I shook it
several times to settle them and added more.
As the last step, I wrapped the entire assembly with thick self-stick
plastic wrap. I did not have any damage to my layout during the move.
Z-scale: minimum siZe, MAXIMUM enjoyment!

- Thank you for the tips, Michael. No need... as I do not have a large layout to move. I have John's box layout and a highly customized, Noch brief-case layout, that I had redone by the late Linda Rankin.
My only issue now is... trying to reduce my collection before the big move. John Kellet of Z Central Station has been kind enough to host my photos. He is a direct link...
