Susan Shrader's Exhibit
- For those who might be interested, Susan Shrader (see article on her display in Sep-Oct 2007
Ztrack) is helping to get the word out on z-scale. She has moved to Tabor, South Dakota for
a while, a "huge" town of about 400 people. But she started a small train show there for the
past two years to help raise funds for a community center. While the show only had 3 layouts,
including hers, the townspeople really liked it. Most people know her Dad and thought he
had built it, since it has his "mark" all over. She says that just proves she is her father's
daughter. At the request of a model railroad club member in a larger town about 10 miles
away, she exhibited at their train show on condition they reciprocate. She gave them a
presentation on her layout. She is in the process of putting in a water mill complete with real
water turning the wheel. That should prove interesting, especially with all the problems real
water can create. Z-scale "rocks", even in small towns.
Oh, a minor correction to my portion of the article. The DC_Z-Bend_Track group has now
exhibited at the Rockville Lions Train Show the past four years. The article said two, but there
was a delay between the time those words were written and publication.
