This 1938 BMW 320 Cabriolet and 1947 Salsbury Super-Scooter 85 will both be shown as part of this year's Keeneland Concours d'Elegance in Lexington, KY.

Lane Motor Museum to show at Keeneland Concours d'Elegance July 19

The Keeneland Concours d'Elegance in Lexington, KY is one of the few major Concours events that can be visited within an easy day trip from Nashville!

This year, on July 19, Lane Motor Museum will be presenting the following:

      • 1938 BMW 320 Cabriolet- Although over 4,000 of these were produced between 1937-1938, the BMW Veteranen-Club Deutschland reports having knowledge of only 17 surviving examples of this model. LEARN MORE!
      • 1947 Salsbury Super-Scooter 85-  The Super-Scooter model 85 was designed to entice car owners into considering a scooter for transportation by offering pedals, which car drivers were more accustomed to, instead of a twist throttle on the handlebars. Body work covered the engine and other dirty mechanical parts so drivers never had to soil their hands.  LEARN MORE!

For more information, visit http://www.keenelandconcours.com/ We hope to see you there!

Lane Motor Museum at the Liege-Brescia-Liege Microcar Rally in July
Claude Gueniffey and Jeff Lane successfully completed the 2100 mile micro car rally from Liege, Belgium to Brescia, Italy and back to Liege.  Fantastically happy just to finish the rally they managed to win their class (250 cc engine size or less) with only one accident (in Italy) and several small mechanical problems.  A complete report on the rally is coming in a future newsletter!

Lane Motor Museum at Keeneland Concours in Lexington, KY

This year's Keeneland Tour d'Elegance saw the BMW among a select group of automotive thoroughbreds, lined up for a country drive, culminating in a lunch stop at Shaker Village.  The Bimmer didn't miss a beat, and the drive took us through some truly beautiful countryside.

For the first time, Keeneland created a Motorcycle and Scooter class so the museum presented the 1947 Salsbury Superscooter.  It was a real hit with several of the Keeneland volunteers that had had one of these unusual American scooters in their past.

Only 4 hours from Nashville, the Keeneland show promises to grow, and the number and quality of the cars on display are on par with many other major concours. Highly recommended - look for it next July!

Volunteer at the Lane Motor Museum!

If you've wanted to become more involved with the museum, now's your chance.

Lane Motor Museum will be holding a class for new volunteers Saturday, September 13 from 3-5pm.

Museum volunteers serve an important role by answering visitor questions and helping at museum special events.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Vicki Garrison at 615-742-7445 or via email at marketing@....
