      Williams backing Slade appointment (2/11/07)

Marvin Williams, who left Millwall for Yeovil Town in the summer, says
Russell Slade would be a 'top' appointment for the Lions.

Slade has been linked with the vacant position for several weeks now and
despite press reports linking Liam Rosenior, Scott Fitzgerald and Kitt
Symons with the job, the Yeovil boss remains the leading contender to
      succeed Willie Donachie.

'Russell is a top, top manager and a top man as well,' Williams told the
      Bexley Times.

'He brings the absolute best out of his players. Last season, Yeovil
were either one of the favourites to go down or nowhere near in the
running to go up automatically or via the play-offs.

'But he's done it. He got us to the play-off final and we were unlucky
not to go up. He's just got such an uplifting feeling about him. He's a
good manager and he could go to Millwall and - with no disrespect to
anyone else who has been in charge - probably get them playing football
      and moving up the table.'

      Comments on the above....
