The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) is seeking a Deputy Executive Director/Communicat ions Director to help manage all facets of the organization's operations, supervise communications and research operations, direct online communications, coordinate board meetings, conference calls, and executive committees, serve as the organization's primary on-the-record spokesperson, and serve as the office's primary IT director.
Areas of responsibility include:
§ Writing press releases, research documents, opinion pieces, e-communications, and website content;
§ Coordinating monthly board meetings, supervising executive committees, and handling other administrative assignments as put forth by the Executive Director;
§ Administering the organization's 401k plan and Cafeteria plan.
§ Serving as one of the organization's on-the-record spokespeople;
§ Supervising research operations and conducting political and policy research;
§ Organizing leadership and committee meetings, and other corporate governance;
§ Serving as the webmaster for www.njdc.org and the organization's chief online strategist;
§ Formulating organizational policy, strategy, and strategic marketing initiatives;
§ Managing the office's IT needs;
The position requires administrative and/or management experience; demonstrated
political, policy, and communications experience; sound judgment; excellent interpersonal skills; and the ability to work closely with colleagues. Online technical skills (including web and blog management experience) and some development experience preferred.
The position requires extensive knowledge of the organized Jewish community
and the Democratic Party, and excellent verbal and written communications skills.
