Thanks for the feedback on the widget, Satyam. I...

  • Thanks to Satyams excellent article on extending widgets, I created something that is working fairly well although I have a bit of work left to do. This object acts like a element except that you can add objects to the list and the drop down area can display multiple properties of the object as each "row" in the drop down. You can see it in action here: http://www.kelseystudio.com...

  • We did #3. We added a column which can have various icons which display to give a visual clue about what the data may be (altough you certainly could use just a single image). The column has an editor associated with it and when the user clicks the icon they will get a modal dialog with the appropriate additional options.

  • For our application, we built User and Role tables in SQL. Simply put, the roles each correspond to a page within our application. When the user logs in he has an application style menu which the gets loaded from an Ajax call (we use DWR) which loads the list of pages the user is allowed to view. In case of someone manually typing a URL, the first thing all pages do when they load...

  • I should have included the following also: JavaScript for creating object on page: function formatName(oData) { return oData.name.firstName+" "+oData.name.lastName; } function formatAddress1(oData) { return oData.address.line1; } function formatAddress2(oData) { return oData.address.line3+" "+oData.address.line4+" "+oData.address.postalCo de; } var cfg = [ {key:"name",formatter...

  • Thanks for the replies. I was not clear enough in my original post. I am looking for a select where each option in the list can contain multiple lines. For example, the ability to list addresses and show the entire formatted address. I started work on one yesterday. I've still got some work to do, but here is a screen print of what it looks like so far (disregard the select just...

  • I am looking for a widget that looks like a select element but will show multiple lines when the list opens. Ideally it takes a JSON datasource to load the elements. I'd love if there was a YUI one but I don't see anything right off. Does anyone know of one that works well or, for the YUI team, is there anything like this on the horizon? TIA -Steve

  • That was it, Sayten. I found the caretfix CSS change at http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/container/ but it must be incorrect there. Changing to Auto worked perfect! Thank you so much. That was driving me crazy. -Steve --- In ydn-javascript@^$1, "Satyen Desai" wrote: > > Hi, > Applying overflow:auto to a parent of the textbox is what is required to fix the issue.
