      I am using a layout manager(Top, left, center). Resizing is enabled on the left unit. I have a textarea element in the center unit. The resize handle of the left unit is next to the textarea. So when I grab the handle and try to extend the left unit it does not work. But when I grab the left unit at a level higher than the textarea, it works, I can resize it. Anybody has an idea on why the resize will not work when it is being applied at the textarea level, and how to fix this problem?

      Thanks,

        var layout = new YAHOO.widget.Layout('', {

        { position: 'left', useShim: true, resize: true }

        layout.render();

          Hi Dave,

          Thank you for your answer. useShim is helping a little bit, but the problem that remains is that the layout manager does not resize when, I drag and release the mouse. I have to actually click after dragging, then it will resize. Any suggestion on that one.

          Thanks,
