I'm trying to set the opacity of text but in IE it always looks ugly. Here's a simple test that shows setting opacity to 0 and then back to 1:
      http://artistic-webdesign.com/test/yui/Set%20CSS%20Style.html

If you click the Hide button followed by the Show button you'll notice that when the text reappears, it looks bad in IE7. It looks fine in FF3.

I know IE doesn't actually have an opacity property so I assume that YUI is doing it via IE's filter property. But whatever it's doing, it's unfortunate that it doesn't look good.

Is there a workaround? Or a future fix?

FWIW, I noticed that Dojo has the same problem with IE.

... Dav, Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it doesn t make any difference. IE7 still displays the ragged-looking text. David Salahi
