        The header doesn't have a size, it's dynamic based on the Header text..

        You should be able to make them taller by adding some style to them with this css rule:

        .yui-skin-sam .yui-layout .yui-layout-unit div.yui-layout-hd h2 {
              height: 40px;
        }

                The header doesn't have a size, it's dynamic based on the Header text..

                You should be able to make them taller by adding some style to them with this css rule:

                .yui-skin-sam .yui-layout .yui-layout-unit div.yui-layout-hd h2 {
                      height: 40px;
                }

                      Well the defaults margins / height settings were eating up a lot of screen real estate so I was trying to reduce them.  The margins on the H2 were set to 11px top and bottom so with a height of 25px the margins are as much as the text.  Resetting the margins on the H2 gets what I want.  I started test with Chrome which lets me inspect elements and see the CSS hierarchy which makes it a lot easier to figure out what is going on.

                      There is a margin on the H2 as well.. You have the height set in CSS to 25px, so that's the size it's being set to.

                      What are you expecting it to look like?

                      The header doesn't have a size, it's dynamic based on the Header text..

                      You should be able to make them taller by adding some style to them with this css rule:

                      .yui-skin-sam .yui-layout .yui-layout-unit div.yui-layout-hd h2 {
                            height: 40px;

                        Dave, this looks like a bug to me.  I went back to look at your demo http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/examples/layout/page_layout_source.html a see everything displaying the way I would expect.  I copy the demo to my machine and replace the css & js links with what YUI Dependency Configurator generates and the display goes wacky.  In the demo, you are linking to the css/js files in  the developer environment the configurator links to products.  Where is what works

                        So it looks to me like the production has a bug that the development environment does not.   BTW to fix the production environment, I had to remove a 11px top and bottom margin from the H2.

                        1) Why overload the H2 element?  It seams like bad form since it might be used elsewhere by an unsuspecting user.  It would have seam to be cleaner to create a yui.H2 element.

                        2) Why use the sprite.png instead of setting a background color.  The png requires 4k vs a background color which is free?  If a developer wanted to use a background image it would be easy to add an option.

                        You should be able to make them taller by adding some style to them with this css rule:

                          1. I use an h2 because it is semantically correct to use one there. It is a header and should be announced as such.

                          2. I also use the sprite because it's skinned, if you don't want to use it you can include the layout-core (non-skinned) css file and skin it your self:

                          So it looks to me like the production has a bug that the development environment does not.   BTW to fix the production environment, I had to remove a 11px top and bottom margin from the H2.

                          To other things that seam wrong in this configuration

                          1) Why overload the H2 element?  It seams like bad form since it might be used elsewhere by an unsuspecting user.  It would have seam to be cleaner to create a yui.H2 element.

                          2) Why use the sprite.png instead of setting a background color.  The png requires 4k vs a background color which is free?  If a developer wanted to use a background image it would be easy to add an option.

                          Thanks

                          You should be able to make them taller by adding some style to them with this css rule:

                          .yui-skin-sam .yui-layout .yui-layout-unit div.yui-layout-hd h2 {
                                height: 40px;
