I don't think that it will work because Rich Editing support wasn't supported in Safari until 2.x..

      Hi

Does the YUI Rich text editor support Safari 1.3.2?

I've got it to render ok but when I press submit which runs saveHTML()
on the textarea the content is not saved back to the textarea

      Cheers
      John
