The example of posting an image as a placeholder for a file is almost a perfect solution to a question I hadn't even asked yet!

I would like to use the YUI-RTE to edit template files and be able to insert custom objects into it that would get replaced at a later time. However, I would prefer that the custom objects be span tags with a bit of text in them rather than image tags. Obviously, this text needs to not be editable and the entire object should be drag-dropable anywhere in the document. Is this doable? (reasonable? )
