      Hi there, ive been attempting to use Tabview on a website i'm
      creating, but for some reason linking to another page doesnt seem to
      work in IE, but looks beautiful in firefox... Any ideas? code posted
      below.

      <div id="container"><h2 class="first">Your
      Gallerys</h2></div>
      <asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server"></asp:Label>
      <script type="text/javascript">
      (function() {
      var tabView = new YAHOO.widget.TabView();

      tabView.addTab( new YAHOO.widget.Tab({
      label: 'Bidding',
      dataSrc: '../../../profileframe.aspx?view=Bidding',
      cacheData: true,
      active: true
      }));

      tabView.addTab( new YAHOO.widget.Tab({
      label: 'Selling',
      dataSrc: '../../../profileframe.aspx?view=Selling',
      cacheData: true

      }));

      tabView.addTab( new YAHOO.widget.Tab({
      label: 'Sold',
      dataSrc: '../../../profileframe.aspx?view=Sold',
      cacheData: true

      }));

      tabView.addTab( new YAHOO.widget.Tab({
      label: 'UnSold',
      dataSrc: '../../../profileframe.aspx?view=Unsold',
      cacheData: true

      }));

      YAHOO.log("The example has finished loading; as you interact with
      it, you'll see log messages appearing here.", "info", "example");

      tabView.appendTo('container');
      })();
      </script>

      the aspx pages are literally just gridviews populated with data, and
      like i said which works nicely in firefox, just not IE.

      Thanks in advance, love using YUI!

        Hi Dave, Do not try to expand your DOM structure before the onDOMReady moment, Try this, wrap the line: tabView.appendTo( container );

          Hi Dave,

          Do not try to expand your DOM structure before the onDOMReady moment,

          Try this, wrap the line:
          tabView.appendTo('container');

          YAHOO.util.Event.onDOMReady (function() {
          tabView.appendTo('container');
          });

          This should solve the problem.

                    Hi dave, sorry for the delay.

                    Well, I have no idea why the ASPX page trigger an error. If you can
                    publish the example, will be great...

                    Also, try to move the complete block (tabview creation process) to the
                    onDOMReady function...

                    I'm assuming that the problem raise is in IE, right?

                    Best Regards,

                          saw two contrasting things:

                          1. "The server made a boo boo". Which means that the remote contents
                          exists, but the header sent by the server is wrong for some reason, in
                          this case the FireBug detect the response like "Error 500".
                          2. The response contents have a full XHTML page, which may cause
                          malfunctions in your pages (remove the html, head and body tag from
                          the dynamic contents).

                          Best Regards,

                                        The problem in your script that you're inserting a "form" tag within
                                        another "form" tag. IE has been a known culprit in this regard simply
                                        throwing an "Unknown runtime error".

                                        You can try the simple example below on Firefox and IE:

                                        http://gopalarathnam.com/examples/javascript/iemadness.html

                                        The above example works fine in Firefox, whereas throws an "Unknown
                                        runtime error" in IE 6 and 7, yes it is not yet regressed ;)

                                        HTH.

                                            Looking at:

                                            http://www.amateurartauction.co.uk/Gallery.aspx

                                            I can see:

                                            <form name="aspnetForm" method="post" action="Gallery.aspx" id="aspnetForm">

                                            immediately after the "body" element.

                                            And the URL for the tabs:

                                            http://www.amateurartauction.co.uk/profileframe.aspx?view=Sold

                                            returning me something like:

                                            <form name="ctl00" method="post" action="profileframe.aspx?view=Sold" id="ctl00">
                                            <!-- ... -->
                                            </div></form>

                                            When the tab content gets inserted you get a "form" element within
                                            another "form" element. This is not allowed as per W3C HTML
                                            specification, which generates the "Unknown runtime error" in Internet
                                            Explorer.

                                            You need to remove one of these "form" elements so that you don't get a
                                            "form" within another.

                                            HTH.

                                            PS. am I looking at the correct URL?
