      Hello,

      i'm currently researching the potential use of the Menu YUI component
      and i need to create either a table based or floated list based
      submenu with 2 or more columns. Is there a way for this to work?

      Everything i've tried so far just breaks the javascript.

        Stu -

        The YUI Menu currently does not support multiple columns within a Menu
        instance. File a feature request via SourceForge if you'd like to see
        this added for a future YUI release.

            Stu,

            Todd has provided working examples of all the intended use cases for Menu here:

            http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/menu (look in the right column for the example roster)

            Each MenuItem is, structurally, an <li> element with an enclosed <a>...for example:

            <li id="yui-gen11" class="yuimenuitem" groupindex="0" index="6">
            <a href="http://members.yahoo.com">Member Directory</a>
            </li>

            The markup you put within that <li> and the CSS you apply to it is pretty open — you should be able to achieve most effects you would seek.

            Take a look through the examples and see if any of them illustrate the pattern your looking for.

            Regards,
            Eric
