- Very cool. I've been sailing engineless on my Yankee 30 for 5 years now using a sculling oar. The directions I used were from Jay Fitzerald (Oar Club). They used to be posted on a great blog: (knockaboutsloops.blogspot.com), but it looks like it's no longer open to the public.
The construction is so easy that even I can do it! Here's a photo:
