      Better Left Unsaid

      Author : Kerri
      Feedback : Kerri_Sokol@...
      Rating : PG-13
Summary : Logan, Ororo, and a case of UnresolvedSexualTension.

      Continuity : 1 year to 18 months after X2.

Disclaimer : X-Men, the characters, and the Movieverse are the properties of Marvel Comics and 20th Century Fox. No infringement is intended.

Notes : <Puts on flame retardant gear> Yes, I like the idea of Ororo/Logan. If that's not your cup of tea, you can stop reading now. :)

Sometimes Logan wonders what Ororo would do if she knew about the feelings he was having for her.

To her, he is just a teammate, the loose cannon to be suffered at a polite distance. Maybe with more time, she could come to view him as a friend. He would like to be that, and much more.

She is his new obsession. He can't quite pinpoint when things changed, but he now finds himself taking every opportunity to spend time with her, to drench himself in her beauty and her scent and imprint them in his brain because he just can't get enough.

He wonders how she can be so intelligent and yet be so damn blind to the fact that he wants her. If she has any clue, it never shows beyond a slight change in her scent every so often. She's unflappable - calm, collected, and always in control.

He wants to be the one to make her lose that control. He dreams of it, waking in tangled sheets with an indescribable ache running through him.

His own control is perilously close to slipping. He's not sure how much longer he can go without doing something. Patience and subtlety have never been his strong suits. He'd made no secret of his attraction to Jean, and this thing with Ororo is rapidly approaching that level. He's getting really tired of holding back.

Yet, he does. He doesn't want to mess things up. Every time he tries to tell her, the words get stuck in his throat.

He wonders if he'll ever be able to tell her.

      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes Ororo wonders if it's possible Logan feels the same way she does.

To him, she's probably just one of the team; the ever serious, reliable Storm. Not to be gotten too close to because Logan doesn't really get close to anyone. She feels an inexplicable kinship with him, though, and wonders if they might become friends - or more, since he has long since gotten over Jean.

She will admit she finds him attractive in his own way. Very attractive. The thought that he might have noticed her as a woman sends tiny shivers of excitement through her. The way he'll glance over at her when he thinks she's not watching makes her pulse pound.

Still, she manages to maintain all outward appearances of calm and control around him. Any thoughts of letting that control go are best reserved for some fleeting fantasy.

Sometimes she wonders if maybe she should just take a chance and seize the initiative. Logan isn't the shy type, but perhaps if she let him knew she is interested...On second thought, given her track record with relationships, that probably wouldn't be such a good idea. Perhaps some things were simply better off left unsaid and in the realm of "what if?".
