      Better late than never...

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, and other people of irregular birth.
This is the official announcement for registration for DexCon 6, the main
yearly convention for comic book fanfiction.

Held in beautiful Toronto, Canada, DEXCON is entering its sixth year, and
has seen over 150 fanficcers from 11 different countries attend in its
history. Now offering a major workshop and interactive writer panels, the
convention has added new levels to offer to attendees.

What is DexCon? Way back in the early days of comic fanfiction, a number of
writers found themselves accessible at around the same time and location
for a meeting in Toronto. It was organized by myself, Dex, under the belief
that it would only be a matter of a few phone calls. That one day meeting
between ten people spawned a four days, 65 person yearly convention that
requires a lot more than a few phone calls. It's a learning event. It's a
social gathering. It's a tourist vacation. It's something that can only
      really be experienced, not explained.

Registration is open at the official DEXCON website at
http://dexcon.baseeight.org More details will be added to the site over
the next few sites, so keep an eye on it. The registration form is easily
accessible. Make sure you read the rules of the con. For all the latest
information, you can join the DexCon mailing list at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dexcon/ or watch the community on Livejournal
      under 'DexCon'.

Accommodations are provided by the Holiday Inn On King and the Global
Backpackers Village Hostel on King Street. Both have been the home of
DexCon for three years, and after excellent priced
accommodation in the heart of Downtown Toronto. Single, double, quad and
dormitory style rooms are all available for DexCon attendees.

Deadlines for registration and booking are creeping closer. Why miss the
chance to meet all your favorite writers and have a lot of fun in the
process? So, register now and reserve your place for the biggest event of
      the year.
