FREQUENT FLIER WANTS HELP FROM JUDGE

A Chicago-area Muslim businessman asked a U.S. judge to order Customs
agents to stop detaining him when he crosses the Canadian border.

Akif Rahman filed a lawsuit last June but last weekend, when he flew
home from Toronto, he was detained for 90 minutes and questioned about
his relationship with his mosque, the American Civil Liberties Union
said. As a result, he missed his flight.

The ACLU has filed an emergency motion with a federal judge in Chicago
because Rahman plans to fly to Canada this weekend to drive his wife
and children to Wheaton, Ill. On a previous trip by car, Rahman and
his family were detained, and he was separated from his wife and
      children for six hours.

"He does not want to put his family -- especially his young children
-- through the trauma of seeing their father again led off in
      handcuffs," the ACLU said.

Rahman, an independent consultant, travels frequently on business.
