      MANILA, Dec 3: Afghanistan is set to get its first loan in 23 years
      from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Philippines-based lender
      said on Tuesday.

      The ADB board is expected to approve the loan on Wednesday, a bank
      statement said.

      The ADB suspended lending operations to Kabul in 1979 as that
      country descended into war and chaos.

      The bank has since pledged to play a major role in the country's
      rehabilitation.-AFP

      NOTE: Is it not significant that prior to the US invasion,
      Afghanistan was the ONLY country in the world not in debt? They had
      no money, they were starving, but they owed nothing to nobody. Now...
