QUETTA, July 22: Afghan armed men kidnapped four Pakistani tribesmen
at gunpoint from a village close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in
the Chagai district, officials said on Thursday.

"Yes, we have received information about the kidnapping of four
Pakistanis belonging to the Notizai tribe who were taken to
Afghanistan," a senior Dalbandin administration official told Dawn by
      telephone.

He, however, said that the tribesmen were kidnapped from across the
border and added that the incident appeared to be a result of some
      monetary dispute.

According to reports, unknown armed men kidnapped the four Pakistanis
in Shabo village, and took them away across the border.

The four have been identified as Noor Ahmed, Haji Jan Mohammad,
      Mohammad Khan and Khuda Bakhsh.

The Notizai tribe's elders and local administration were making
      efforts for their early release.

It may be recalled that Afghan armed men had kidnapped four Pakistani
levies two weeks ago from the border village of Abdul Wahid at
gunpoint and taken them to Afghanistan.
