      Joseph Kony's "Lord's Resistance Army" (LRA)is a
christian fundamentalist organization similar to Pat
Robertson and Jerry Falwell that grew out of Uganda's
"Holy Spirit Movement". Like them, the LRA's central
demand is the adoption of the Ten Commandments as the
      constitution.

In pursuit of this goal, the LRA has abducted over
20,000 children to serve as sex slaves and "warriors".

Like dajjal Bush, the LRA spreads christianity by the
sword. The only difference between the LRA and the
Robertson/Falwell types is that the LRA doesn't have a
national army it can tap to do the job for them, so
      the LRA do it themselves.

Uganda troops kill 37 rebels in northern operation

KAMPALA, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Ugandan troops said on
Thursday they had killed 37 Lord's Resistance Army
rebels in northern Uganda and rescued 22 people
      abducted by the cult-like group.

Government soldiers backed by aircraft killed the
insurgents after hunting them for several days, army
      spokesman Lieutenant Chris Magezi said.

"An infantry force has been pursuing the rebels for
the last few days," he said by telephone from northern
      Uganda.

The rebels were killed in Pader district 300 km (190
miles) north of the capital Kampala on Wednesday
      afternoon.

The Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), based in lawless
areas of southern Sudan and led by self-proclaimed
mystic Joseph Kony, has defied repeated attempts by
the Ugandan army to crush its 17-year-old revolt.

In their bloodiest recent attack, rebels shot or
hacked to death more than 50 people at a refugee camp
      in Abia district.

The rebellion has forced hundreds of thousands of
people to flee their homes and paralysed economic
activity in a large part of northern Uganda where the
group has abducted thousands of children for use as
      fighters or sex slaves.

The LRA has said it is fighting to improve the lot of
Uganda's northern Acholi people. But the group has not
made a clear public statement detailing its demands.
