9 killed, 100 injured, in fresh Zionist bombing of central Gaza -
      Total of 11
      Palestinian killed today

Occupied Jerusalem: 20 October, 2003 (IAP News)

Israeli warplanes renewed attacks on central Gaza Monday afternoon,
      killing 8
and injuring at least 100 Palestinian civilians.

Eyewitnesses said Zionist attack helicopters fired air-to-ground
      missiles at a
car in the heart of Gaza, killing two persons and injuring others.

One of the victims was identified as Imad Akel, a prominent member of
      Hamas
military wing, the Izzedin al Kassam Brigades.

However, when hundreds of people hastened to the scene to rescue the
      injured,
Israeli war planes targeted the rescuers with two more missiles,
      killing four
more civilians and injuring as many seventy others.

All of the victims are innocent civilians.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli occupation army carried out a failed
assassination attempt on Sheikh Abdullah al Shami, spokesman of the
      Islamic
      Jihad resistance group in Gaza.

Al-Shami was not hurt in the bombing which destroyed a house under
      construction
next to his home in eastern Gaza.

A few hours afterwards, an Israeli helicopter attacked another
      Palestinian car
in which two Hamas fighters, Khalid al-Masri, 28, and Iyad al-Hilo,
      26, were
riding, killing them both and bystander 35 year old Marwan al-Khatib.

The Zionist regime said the killing and maiming of so many civilians
      was in
retaliation for the killing of three Israeli soldiers near Ramallah
      Sunday
      evening.

Zionist carnage in Gaza leaves scores of civilians dead, maimed

Occupied Jerusalem: 21 October, 2003 (IAP News)

The Zionist regime last night launched further air raids on
      Palestinian
population centers in Gazat, killing and maiming scores of Palestinian
      civilians.

Medical sources reported that 15 Palestinians, including several
      children, were
killed and as many as 100 people injured in five air strikes by
American-supplied F-16 fighter Jets and apache helicopter gunships,
      targeting
      home and a busy street.

In one raid, an Israeli helicopter gunship fired several hell-fire
      missiles into
a crowd of people gathered round a destroyed vehicle, causing at
      leasing 70 more
      casualties.

Among them were 8 people dead, including a doctor who came to treat
      the wounded.

Eyewitnesses described the targeting of innocent civilians as a
      premeditated
      massacre.

The Israeli media admitted that the victims were innocent civilians
      but refused
to criticize the Sharon' government policy of targeting Palestinian
      civilians.

The attack on the Gaza crowd followed a wave of air strikes
      throughout Monday in
the heavily populated neighborhoods of Gaza.

One of the raids targeted Islamic Jihad political leader Abdullah al
      Shami.

However, the 48-year-old spokesman of the resistance group escaped
      unhurt.

Later on, Israeli helicopters attacked a car in the Nuseirat refugee
      camp near
Gaza, killing two people, believed to be members of Hamas military
      wing, the
      Izzedin al Kassam Brigades.

Following the killing, thousands of protesters in the Nusseirat
      refugee camp
      called for revenge.

They also called on the Palestinian Authority to quit talks with
      Israel.

"Where is the world, where is the United States and the United
      Nations? Aren't
we humans and have rights? Why do they keep silent to see us being
      slaughtered?"
      cried one man.

It is widely believed that the carnage in Gaza was in retaliation for
      the
killing by Palestinian resistance fighters of 3 Israeli soldiers near
      Ramallah
      on Sunday.

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ahmed Qrei condemned the "wanton
      killing of
      innocent civilians by Israel."

He called on the international community to intervene immediately to
      force
Israel to stop Israel's "genocidal war" against an unarmed and
      unprotected
      civilian population.

Israel's guardian-ally, the United States, refused to condemn the
      killings in
      Gaza.
