  • Good evening, I just got back and saw the Acurite at my Costco. Did you ever get it to post to wunderground? How is the station compared to the 2812? I am considering getting it but I definitely want it posting to WU. Thanks for your help! • you could also add an image from a tracking site and they can look at your visitors for you without adding code or anything to your site....sitemeter does that and a few others. • I wonder if a copy of Windows Embedded would run on one of these.....I can get a copy of at least embedded windows 7 and I believe 8. I believe it is made for ARM based systems.....gears are turning. I am just not sure what embedded gives up and what it can do. Thanks for the ideas, Larry On Mon, Nov 25, 2013 at 7:10 PM, H. • It can be daunting, but depending on why you want to do it, it could be rather fulfilling. It is a never ending cycle of trying to keep up with what changes are needed to parse the info and how to disseminate it. There are bunches of javascript based tickers that you basically just feed them the data you want for them to display, although I do not use any myself and do not know any...

  • I would definitely use NOAA or something government based, definitely stay away from the commercial sites they change way too often and you will constantly be changing your parser. I wrote one for my Windows phone to pick up the forecast from NOAA, which never normally changes the layout, but low and behold they have an outage of some sort and all of the sudden I have to code a...

  • This is awesome Don! Maybe make it so it could fire off via a command line, so if someone would want to use it in an action file they could do that. Just a thought, I am not sure if I would use that but I can see it could make an interesting way to make reports and then move them onto a server. Just a thought, and again this is awesome! • If you want to refresh the page after a certain number of seconds then you will want this < meta http-equiv = "refresh" content = "60" > placed right after your tag. That is telling the browser window to refresh after 60 seconds, which you can make it as large as you would like, I use 900 seconds which refreshes the page after waiting 15 minutes. Hope that helps you, Larry On Tue...

  • I just saw this, this morning and thought I would share.....is it viable? maybe not but shows a direction that could be interesting for remote machines later on. Someone took a Raspberry Pi and made it completely solar....I realize this is linux and may be a reason it will not work, but who knows one day it may be a way to make it work. http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/desktops/how-to...
