Subject: [wuhu_software_group] v214 Refresh, Windows 98 in direct serial support works again.

After investigating what it would take to rip out all of the ActiveX
controls from the application (to increase compatibility with other
versions of Windows), I discovered the incapatibility with Windows
      98. After modifiying the application I was able to install and run
WUHU on an Me machine using direct serial mode.

Indirect mode (currdat.lst monitoring)is not supported at this time.
This is due to the use of a file monitoring API that is not present
in Windows 98 (and never will be).

Sorry, there is no support for HW Pro under 98 at this time for the
above stated reason. I might add this functionality if there is
sufficient demand however I have no plans to do so. If and when
direct serial mode is implemented for the WS-36xx, you *should* be
able to use it at that time.

Also, I did end up creating a version will the ActiveX controls
yanked out. That version will have no gauge or chart screen. It is
really for testing installs under Linux. I doubt it will be supported
in the future but I thought it might be interesting to try.

If you do install under Linux, you might try this new 214 version
with ActiveX controls. It might work.
