Re: [wuhu_software_group] Communications error or invalid/corrupt data retrieve
- Is this USB to serial adapter new?The WS-36XX relies heavily on high speed hardware handshaking for communications. Many of the cheaper USB to serial adapters do not support the handshake lines at all (no wires even connected).Did you use a USB to a serial adapter on the Vista machine? You can buy a PCI express serial card relatively cheaply. In the case of the WS-36xx, I would recommend a real serial port where possible.

Subject: [wuhu_software_group] Communications error or invalid/corrupt data retrieve
I have a LaCrosse WS3600 with direct serial access. Just loaded WUHU onto my new Windows 8 computer and bought a new USB to serial adapter that is Windows 8 compliant (~$30) that has FTDI driver dated 1/18/2013, version 184.108.40.206. Even though the serial port(COM6) opened successfully, all I'm getting is a "Communications error or invalid/corrupt data retrieved from console." The setup is all similar to my previous Vista-based system that worked fine for years.
What should I do now? Any help would be most appreciated.
