      Thanks,

I followed the guide and changed the WHU Configuration.ini to enable the Write Extended Currentdat Setting. Then I changed the sample Actions.txt to the below - however, no files are created until now...

      Thanks in advance!

      Tom

      template:"C:\Program Files\WUHU\templates\csv.txt" "W:\Weather Station\SienaHei\data.csv+"
      template:"C:\Program Files\WUHU\templates\highsandlows.txt" "W:\Weather Station\SienaHei\HighsAndLows.txt+"
      copy:"C:\Program Files\WUHU\data\data.csv" "W:\Weather Station\SienaHei\data2.csv+"
      copy:"C:\Program Files\WUHU\data\HighsAndLows.txt" "W:\Weather Station\SienaHei\HighsAndLows2.txt+"

Are the templates not working correctly?

Everything looks Ok except on the file copy commands, there is no + needed at the end of the file name. I do not believe that the copy command will append, it always overwrites the destination file.

I would need to see your source templates, templates\csv.txt and templates\highsandlows.txt.

Were the output files on w:\ created?

You can send me your templates and output files via email to wuhu_software at yahoo.com. If there is a problem with the template please also send a description of the problem if it is not obvious.

Thanks again. I use the original templates. I did only change the action.txt - I try to create the data file in the program directory and then copy them to a net drive, which is W:. Unfortunately, no data file is created in the /data directory of the program location - and I get a copy error to W: - I also tried to use the network ID instead \\Halo/Weatherstation but it also gives me a copy error in the log. What do I do wrong? Can it be a user rights issue?

          Thanks, Tom

            Hey Tom,

That's because the line that contains 'template:' generates your data file.
Another way of putting it is the 'template:' command creates the data.csv

You don't need to copy it to W: if it is being created on W:

            Try just:

            template:"C:\Program Files\WUHU\templates\csv.txt" "W:\Weather Station\SienaHei\data.csv+"
            template:"C:\Program Files\WUHU\templates\highsandlows.txt" "W:\Weather Station\SienaHei\HighsAndLows.html"

The + on the data.csv means it will keep adding data to that file.
The highsandlows.txt is a template to create a html page.

Next step is make sure you have turned on Alerts/Actions.

Unfortunately, no data file is created in the /data directory of the program location - and I get a copy error to W: - I also tried to use the network ID instead \\Halo/Weatherstation but it also gives me a copy error in the log. What do I do wrong? Can it be a user rights issue?

Hi John, I tried that now it creates the two files but they do not contain data but just the field variables of the template file. See attached files. Thanks

P.S. How can I upload these files?

Tom, I do not see your attachments. You can make a folder in the files area of the group and upload them. After we are done with them we can delete the folder.

                Tom,

I do not see your attachments.

You can make a folder in the files area of the group and upload them. After we are done with them we can delete the folder. Just make sure you tell us where you posted them.

As I mentioned to the other user, you must enable the writing of the currdat.lst in the general section. Enable write extended data as well.

                Hi John,

I tried that now it creates the two files but they do not contain data but just the field variables of the template file. See attached files.

                Thanks in advance!

                Tom

P.S. How can I upload these files?

                  Hi again,

The created data files are in folder:
                  http://tech.dir.groups.yahoo.com/group/wuhu_software_group/files/Siena%20Heights/

They are expanded every 5 minutes so data.csv is now more than 5MB but only contains field names - no data. I do not have access to the configuration file from home. Would that help you to see if I did not set the settings right?

                  Thanks, Tom

                      Tom,

                      I couple of questions

                      1) Was W:\Weather Station\SienaHei\data.csv created?

                      2) You must specify the action file under the Action/Alarm screen. Hit the button next to the On Weather Update, in the Action on Activation edit box, you would enter the complete path to your Action.txt file:

                      actionfile:"C:\Temp\Actions.txt"

If the Actions.txt were in the C:\Temp folder.

                      Have you done this step?

Unfortunately, no data file is created in the /data directory of the program location - and I get a copy error to W: - I also tried to use the network ID instead \\Halo/Weatherstation but it also gives me a copy error in the log. What do I do wrong? Can it be a user rights issue?

Hi and thanks! Yes, the file data.csv was created in W: I attached it in the files area.
I link to my action file which is located in the WUHU installation folder.

                        Thanks, Tom

Unfortunately, no data file is created in the /data directory of the program location - and I get a copy error to W: - I also tried to use the network ID instead \\Halo/Weatherstation but it also gives me a copy error in the log. What do I do wrong? Can it be a user rights issue?

I am not sure what is going on there.

I would suggest that you install Team Viewer 6 (a free application) then send me your ID and password in email (to wuhu_software at yahoo.com) and I can take a look.

Going out for a walk right now, back in an hour or so.

Unfortunately, no data file is created in the /data directory of the program location - and I get a copy error to W: - I also tried to use the network ID instead \\Halo/Weatherstation but it also gives me a copy error in the log. What do I do wrong? Can it be a user rights issue?

                            Tom,

I am not sure what is going on there.

I would suggest that you install Team Viewer 6 (a free application) then send me your ID and password in email (to wuhu_software at yahoo.com) and I can take a look.

Going out for a walk right now, back in an hour or so.

                              Hi,

I will go to my workstation in the university after taking a walk with my dog myself. I will then send you the user/password. However, I am not sure that it will work as our network admins are quite paranoid and I cannot get e.g. VPN with my old university library working...

                              Thanks, Tom

Check your WUHU Configuration.INI file for: [General Settings] Write Extended Currentdat=1 If it doesn t exist add it. If I run the files from the examples.zip
                              Message 14 of 18 , May 7, 2012
Check your WUHU Configuration.INI file for:

                                [General Settings]
                                Write Extended Currentdat=1

If it doesn't exist add it.

If I run the files from the examples.zip off the manual website
(action.txt and csv.txt) to produce a csv file, it works correctly with
                                the Write Extended Currentdat=1
I see the same results you get in your csv when it is turned off or not
                                listed in the WUHU Configuration.INI.

Here is my output from the examples.zip action.txt and csv.txt:
                                Using:
                                template:"c:\program files\wuhu\templates\csv.txt"
                                "z:\root\data\data_test.csv+"
