Hello, I'm Ken, AF4ZR. I've been interested in electronics and engineering since childhood. As a young fellow, I decided to go to Mississippi State University and earned a B.S.I.E. (Industrial Engineering). At MSU, I met my wife and best friend, married, and moved to Jackson, MS. Then I pursued a career with MagneTek, a manufacturer of electrical equipment, in Mendenhall, MS. I became interested in ham radio through a fellow engineer, Fred, KB5RHD. I was first licensed as KD5BWB in July of 1997. About that same time, I finished a masters degree, MBA. I became a manager of the stamping department at work and continued learning about radio & electricity.
In 1998 we moved to Jackson, TN, due to a new job at MagneTek's motor plant in Lexington. Today I work with YoungTouchstone in Jackson. I became KF4ZUP, KG4IAA, and finally AF4ZR. I'm serving at ARES ASEC for W TN and the Webmaster for the club's website. My wife and I have three great kids and a fine life here in Jackson, TN. We're active members of Englewood Baptist Church and invite you to visit.
