I have been recently appointed as the Digital Emergency Coordinator
for the Tennessee Section. As we get this started I will be coming
to each of the 3 areas of the State to have planning meetings. The
primary goal is to have a statewide coordinated effort to pass
emergency traffic, messages, and general information by digital
means. Stay tuned for more information as this unfolds.
A little about me.
I am an avid APRS user. I also run Packet, PSK-31, Slowscan and a
few other modes on HF, VHF and UHF. I am the SYSOP for a Winlink
Telpac node in Anderson County, active member of East TN Skywarn as
well as being the Past President of the Oak Ridge Amateur Radio Club
(2 terms). I currently have 4 different digital modes running 24-7
simultaneously. I call the TN section ARES net on HF twice a month
and just love ham radio in general. I belong to the East TN
Department of Homeland Security Interoperability Council and also
work with the Anderson County Office of Emergency Management. I have
worked actual disasters not just the models. I hope together we can
make TN the leader in Digital Emergency Communications.
Every other day or so I sleep 3 or 4 hours. (hi hi)
I look forward to meeting and working with you soon.
