  • I have been considering devoting a portion of my table at an upcoming hamfest, to trying to generate some local interest. Is anyone aware of any related files that would be suitable for printing and giving out, as a flier, trifold brochure, etc.? Also, I have recently been given a nice stack of blank CD's. I am thinking about putting the latest WSJT version, the tutorial, and other...

  • I have seen a reference to an activation of EL88 and EL89 mentioned on PJ. Does anyone have info on when this may be taking place and the modes being used? Thanks, Mark KØXXX

  • One way to promote the mode is your local club. Give a talk and have some handouts. A few overheads, printed on your computer, adds a bit of visual to help out. If you have anyone interested, invite them over to see the mode in operation and/or offer to come to their shack and help them get started. Having someone locally to practice with is a great help for those just learning and...

  • What to do,what to do, what to do... I would like to try EME this summer, however I am unsure if my station will be up to it so I would like some opinions. First my situation. I am in a lousy location for ground gain, as I'm situated in a small valley. I will be putting a new M2 6M9KHW (already purchased) on the tower, as well as a SSB preamp. I currently have about 600w available...

  • How are JT65 and JT6M QSO's being logged for upload to LoTW and eQSL? When I create an ADIF file, I get errors for these two modes. Thanks, Mark, KØXXX

  • Thanks Randy and the Group, Initially (pun intended), I thought it may have been intirely grid related. Now I see where the station ties in, also. I now have some references and I will check out the K1SIX site. I really do appreciate all of the guidance. I have never really thought about initials as a way of looking at my contacts, being entirely grid motovated, but I can see where...

  • Ok, I've been around Meteor Scatter and have been interested in EME for some time now and I should know this, but... when someone says that they have so many "initials", or completed a new "initial", what are they refering to? Is it possibly working a particular grid for the first time? I've heard the term used over the years, but I never really gave it much thought. Perhaps it is...

  • Greetings All, I recently upgraded my PC and I didn't realize until too late that the mother board doesn't have any serial ports for my RigBlaster. Is anyone using one of the USB to Serial adapters, and if so, how is the Com Port issue handled. Also, might it be a better idea just to add a serial port card? Thanks, Mark, KØXXX

  • Sometimes, when PJ is very active, I'll leave WSJT monitoring while I do other things. I like to go back and see who was CQ'ing, etc. Last night I saw that I had 1,469 monitoring files for a total of 922MB. Is it normal for WSJT to save all RX files when monitoring even though I have "None" selected from the SAVE menu? I may have missed this in the User's Guide and apoligize if so. Thanks! Mark, K0XXX

  • ...will I cause someone else, that worked me during the contest, to lose that contact if my log is missing his info? Thanks! Mark K0XXX BTW, thanks to all of the guys putting the work into organizing the contest. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
