  • On some installations there is a checkbox on the audio device allowing applications to make exclusive use of the device. This may be blocking it as it is not released when changing applications. 73 Charlie www.g4est.me.uk Twitter: @ccartmel-----Original Message----- From: wsjtgroup@^$1 [mailto:wsjtgroup@^$2] On Behalf Of 'Lance Collister, W7GJ' w7gj@^$3 [wsjtgroup] Sent: 18 May...

  • trevor As your station gets more complex you will end up with more means for RFI to get into the computer and, as this instance proves, there is a source already there. I had this issue and solved it the same way with ferrites, however as I did not know which lead was the culprit (I had so many things connected to the computer) I used chokes on all USB, jacks and power leads...

  • I use AVG anti virus and the ‘tune up’ component has just flagged up Dimension 4 as a redundant program as part of it’s investigation and suggesting I should activate it, and this will then delete this (and 38 other) applications. If anybody has this installed already then please beware. 73 Charlie www.G4EST.me.uk Twitter:@ccartmel

  • Mark Is WSJT-X outputting audio? Try redirecting to the speakers to check this if you haven’t already done so (assume you have as it is a basic ‘routing’ check). If so the issue is with how you are interfacing. Have you thought of the direct link of the rig to the computer via USB rather than the interface? If you install JTAlert you can log through this route. Perhaps...

  • Mark I use the TS990S for data but don’t use the data modes, just USB as this allows a greater bandwidth for receive. As I am using split mode the TX frequency is set to limit the audio range to middle of the TX passband. It could be that you have not got split set and are trying to TX outside of this and therefore not being in the passband and getting no power. Mt setup is on my...

  • IZ ? Sounds to me that RFI is getting out and RF getting in. This suggests to me that a common ground point connection might help ( I know some people say this is pointless but it helped here!) and the use of clamp on chokes on any (all) leads, mainly USB, entering of leaving the computer as well as any power supplies to peripheral equipment. Also make sure antennae feeders are...
