I have one for use in my RV. I was showing him how to set it up, so when he purchases one, he will have no trouble. The first thing to note is that there are no CD's or drivers to install.Once you plug in the USB cable to the computer, it "does it's thing".Start WSJT7.On the WSJT7 (black) screen, you will see the USB Audio CODEC listed twice - once under input channels and once under output channels. Take note of these two numbers. Then click the window with the waterfall. Press F2 or click Setup / Options. The obvious things are your call and your 6 character grid. I set the interval (CW ID) at 10 minutes. Some set it less. Then set PTT port to 'none'.Audio in and Audio out to the two ports you wrote down from the above step.Exit that, then exit WSJT7. Start WSJT7 again and all should be fixed.I hope this helps you. Please keep us posted.73,AlWA4EWV----- Original Message -----From: Bruce JunkinSent: Tuesday, April 27, 2010 10:26 AMSubject: Re: [wsjtgroup] HELP ! Having trouble getting the software to work properlyHi Charles,In your settings menu in WSJT do you have the PTT port set to 0? Since the USB sound card keys the transmitter when there is audio on the USB port, you do not need to have a numbered comm port on the computer.
Recently my computer crashed and I lost everything. Before it crashed, I had WSJT working, now I cannot get it to key the interface and radio .
I am using Windows XP
I have downloaded and installed the most recent version of WSJT
Interface is SignaLink USB connected to the computer via USB and to my transceiver (Icom 706 MK II G) via the 13 pin data cable.
I have the sound settings set according to the instructions for MixW (i.e., the computer's sound goes to the computer sound card, the mixer sound is set to USB Codec).. I used these settings because the signalink usb has its own internal sound card and these settings key the interface and xceiver and not the computer sound card..
The system works properly with MixW, however, WSJT will (a) not trigger the interface and xmtr and (b) It sends output to the computer speakers. There has to be some setting on WSJT that will send the data to the interface rather than the pc sound card. (The alternative is to set all the sound settings to the interface, which I didn't have to do before, and which I don't want to do now if there is any other alternative)
Since it worked (somehow) before my crash, I am certain it is possible. I think there is some setting I am missing, but I am about to pull out what hair I have left trying to figure it out and get it to operate with WSJT.
Any help or suggestions (including throwing the whole thing out the window) would be appreciated.
