On August 11th the following proposal was published after an open
discussion period relating to changing the Six Meter Meteor Scatter
calling frequency from 50.270 to 50.260 because of numerous stations
suffering from birdies on the call frequency.

      >1. Continue to take comments and data relating to moving the
      >frequency until Sept 7th
      >2. September 7th determine if there is enough new data to defeat
      >the use of 50.260 for the new call frequency. If there is then, 50.270
      >remains the call frequency or new recommendations will be considered.
      >3. On Sept 16th notifications of new call frequency to be sent to
      >major VHF reflectors, WSJTGROUP, Digital on Six Group, Six Meter Club
and >SWOT. Those who have WSJT related web pages should change all
      references >from 50.270 to 50.260.
      >4. Beginning on Sept 20th Random Hour will use 50.260MHz
      >5. Those participating in this process should start supporting and
      >using 50.260 on September 20th.
      >6. The Geminids Rally will use 50.260 for Random Windows (Random
      >Windows. see rules)

The first two steps have past; the time for comments has come and gone.
The new comments from 3 new stations do not raise any new data to defeat
the changing of the call frequency. The comments from 3 other stations,
two having qrm on .270 and one wishing to leave the call frequency on
50.270 because of qrm on .260 have been added to the data. The consensus
decision, considering all the comments of this group is to move from
.270 to .260. This will take place following the steps outlined in the
      table above.

NOTE... The changing of the call frequency is After the ARRL September
VHF QSO Party. The exact time of the change will be 15:00 UTC on Sept
20th during the Six Meter Random Hour. Until that date continue to use
and support 50.270 for the Six Meter Meteor Scatter calling frequency.

Thanks to all who responded and made comments. Also thanks to Joe for
providing the Latest Beta Release of WSJT 3.8.1 with a better birdie
      zapper!
