GE group - lots of people out last Saturday for Easter weekend and/or
playing 'snowbird'. Real short report this go round.

Tip asked that I post results of the recent poll on Random Hour. TNX to
all that took time to provide input. CU Sat AM
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks to all who have participated by voting in the poll relating to
      “activity periods” found at
      http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wsjtgroup/polls. These activity periods on
Saturdays and Tuesday nights (local time) are somewhat copied from what
is happening in “VK” land. (The poll is still open)

It appears that “Saturday Mornings Random Hour” has more users than the
“Tuesday Night KAOS Periods” however both are still being scheduled. For
the reporting that Bruce has been doing following the activity periods
90% stated they support this feedback from Bruce.

From the online poll (as of 4/25 10 have voted) it appears that the
majority 90% feel like the activity periods serve a useful purpose and
70% report that the activity periods have helped improve skills relating
to working random qso’s while 50% stated that working random qso’s are
harder than scheduled qso’s. Only 1 percent feel like the activity
periods need to be better defined with greater detail. With regard to
working on the call frequency or working offset, 2 % thought all qso’s
should be on the call frequency while 60% thought the user should decide
where to make qso’s i.e. on the call frequency or move up / down and
none though all qso’s should be worked off the call frequency.

Of those polled, 8 said they have operated at least one activity period
and 100 % indicated they plan to operate activity periods in the future.

There was a question relating to an award associated for “Activity
Periods” which 4 out of 10 stated they would like to see.

The activity periods belong to the users and will become whatever we as
a group makes them. Send your comments, critique, suggestions to one of
the below and if you haven’t tried an “activity period”, reach-out and
      touch someone!
