      The balance of 2006...

      1. Contests: Most operators consider the "Geminids Shower" the favorite of
the year. This will be the 5th consecutive year the WSJTGROUP has sponsored
      the Winter Rally. http://www.ykc.com/wa5ufh/Rally/NAHSMS.htm

      2. Sprints: Fall / Winter Sprints are scheduled on the last Tuesday night of
each month from Oct 2006 to March 2007. The Sprints are designed to be
similar to "Random Hour" but midweek instead of Saturdays and longer in
      length. http://www.ykc.com/wa5ufh/WSJTGROUP/SprintRules.htm

      3. Random Hour: There are 13 Saturdays in the last quarter of the year so
there is opportunity to earn the Random QSO Award before the end of the year
      or earn new endorsements. http://www.ykc.com/wa5ufh/WSJTGROUP/Awards.htm

Participation during Random Hour sessions continue however the two meter
sessions should be better. Yes, two meters is a little harder but in my
humble opinion that makes contacts more rewarding. Two meter operators, join
in and make a random contact on Saturday mornings. The future of the NAHSMS
Contests is unknown. In the past several have operated but few logs are
submitted thus several certificates are unclaimed and some contest
categories have only a few entries or no entrant. We might be approaching
the last quarter of the year but there are plenty of activities pending.
This time of the year many of us will be looking for inside activities so
don't forget about the above mentioned events.

Good rocks to all and c u tomorrow during RH.
