      It was definitely true in the past that spurious characters could turn
      up in the display of JT9 messages with a compound callsign such as
      ES1HJ/8 or F6EAO/P. Such messages are handles in a special way, and
      (aside from 13-character free text usage) they are restricted to start
      CQ, QRZ, or DE. Further details are given on page 10 of the WSJT-X
      User's Guide:

      I rather thought that the seemingly random appearance of spurious
      characters in these messages had been fixed a month or so ago... but
      perhaps I am mistaken. If you see this bug again, please save the wav
      file and send it to me!
