Loudy-Simpson still producing
The volume of migrating birds at Loudy-Simpson Park in Craig was only a fraction of Wednesday’s big fallout, but there were still good birds around today. Still present were the American Redstart, Northern Waterthrush, Cassin’s Vireo (two today) and Nashville Warbler (2). These species were joined by a very accommodating Red-eyed Vireo. Ironically I did not see any Warbling Vireos. No Townsend’s or Chestnut-sided Warblers seen today.
At the pond behind the MoCo Maintenance shop (CMS Pond) off First Street was a fall-plumaged adult Black Tern and single Least and Spotted Sandpipers amid scores of dabbling ducks and an ibis.
