Brenda and I have just returned from Peru and the Manu Road. We did find over 1/2 of the 1000 species in the area from Cuzco to Porta Maldonado near Bolivia and did get 130 lifers including another 10 hummingbird species. More later on the southern Peru trip.
Today, Brenda had a dental appointment in Montrose. In route we stopped at Ridgway State Park to check the reservoir. Amoung the 30 gulls was a third winter Thayer's Gull. The rest of the gulls were California, 20 and Ringbills, 9. We were running late so did not try to photograph the gull but will return tomorrow with camera. Also there is a loon on the reservoir which may be a common but it was far away to be sure. In the Ridgway City Park in town we did see a Common Grackle, not common in winter.
Coen and Brenda
