Spring Park resr, Tuesday am
A quick trip up to Spring Park reservoir, El Jebel, this morning was fun (as always!)
Water levels are rising slowly now, and both of the seasonal islands are yet to be covered, so we should still have several more days of shorebirding..
Lots of ducks and Eared (>150) and Western Grebes (ca.25) still. Other highlights included..
Common Loon (alt)
(White-faced) Ibis 2 (distant)
Least Sandpiper 1
Long-billed Dowitcher 1
Ring-billed Gull 1 (2nd cycle)
Franklin’s Gull 9
Green-tailed Towhee FOS
PS saw a Peregrine up there y’day evening – looked like a large female
Broad-tailed Hummingbirds are back at the house, since the end of last week
Sora (new yardbird) calling through midnight (first heard on Saturday) – way cool!
Good birding all,
