There were three of us on today's Durango Bird Club trip to the Navajo State Park area. Fortunately, the birds were far more numerous. Some Highlights:

      SAMBRITO MARSH AREA:
      American Bittern (NM Side)
LARK BUNTING (Female)(NM and CO side)
      Sage Thrasher (3) (CO side)
Trumpeter Swan (probably not countable) (NM side)
Merlin (CO to NM side flyover)
      White-faced Ibis (NM side)
      Double-crested Cormorant (NM Side)

WEST PIEDRA AREA (Mouth of Piedra River):
      Western Sandpiper
      PECTORAL SANDPIPER (again!)
      Long-billed Dowitcher (2)
      Ring-billed Gull
      Juniper Titmouse (2)

      WINDSURFER BEACH (SLOW!):
      Western Grebe
      Clark's Grebe

Several gulls went unidentified due to distance but it was a great day overall with 62 species seen and much improved weather.
