The waterfowl numbers on Lk Catamount south of Steamboat are slowly dropping to under an estimate 1000. Mostly Am. wigeon, with fair numbers of canvasback, redheads, ringneck and bufflehead ducks present. Relocated a couple hooded mergansers, and Barrow's golden eye in the west side inlet. An early N. shrike was also found in the sage hills near the lake.

On a gravel pond in route to Lk. Catamount (CO 131/ Co. 20) was a lone juv. white phase snow goose. We see few snow geese in Routt County. Tom in the 'Boat
