      Before the wind started howling, we had several good birds:

      @ Highline Lake SP
      long-billed dowitcher (winter plumage)
      ring-billed gulls (7)
      usual duck suspects

      Mack Mesa reservior
      lg group (10+) no. shovelers

      new lake @ Ruby Canyon Estates ( approx. 8.75 Rd off Hwy 6)
      3 pair canvasbacks
      6 redheads
      12+ grn-wing teal
      courting (!) killdeer

      new lake @ Gold Lake Estates (1.5 miles north of Loma on 13 Rd, turn
      east on Gold Lake Drive)
      a convention of cormorants (16-20 common) and 3 pair
      red-breasted (!) cormorants along w/ a couple more redheads..etc

      Fruita State Park
      16-20 grt-tailed grackles...males in full courtship display
      more grn-wing teal and a pair of grtr scaup
