MAFR = you would need a LOT of spare bedrooms for visiting listers!
~ hey ~ idea ~ if you ever get lonesome over there just post a bird like MAFR and you won't be lonesome for long!

Subject: [wsbn] Osprey and Band-tailed Pigeon

Today we had our first Band-tailed Pigeon at the
feeder. What a beautiful bird up close when one can
compare it to the Eurasian Collared-Dove in the same
feeder box. Record spring date is 17 Mar 06.

Vic, we had our first Osprey today also. It flew over
the yard during a snow shower. At first, as it
circled the small lake in town, I thought it could be
a MAFR but then it came over the yard and out of the
snow and I could clearly see it was an Osprey. I
wonder if this is how birders come up with really
crazy sightings. Snow can really magnify size.
Having a good look is everything when it comes to a
bird's ID. Early spring date for Osprey is 24 Mar 04.
