//->> OPENING WORDS FROM THE EDITOR
      Colin Vassallo -[editor@...]-

So did the Tito Ortiz announcement yesterday kinda screwed up the August 1
mystery angle for Impact tonight? It looks like it will be him, but I will
be happy if it will be someone else. The last thing TNA needs right now is
another part time MMA fighter on their roster. I guess we'll find out
      tonight.

//->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE
      Web version at http://www.wrestling-online.com/

      > WWE ANNOUNCES 2013 Q2 FINANCIAL RESULTS
      - WWE today announced announced financial results for its second quarter
      ended June 30, 2013. Revenues increased $10.7 million or 8%, to $152.3
million from $141.6 million in the prior year quarter. Operating income,
however, declined to $8.8 million as compared to $19.6 million in the
prior year. The drop in income was due to increased staff expenses to
support future initiatives. "In the second quarter, we continued to make
investments in both staffing and talent to support our long-term growth
objectives. These initiatives, including the recent opening of a
world-class performance training facility, and the highest grossing
WrestleMania in our Company's history, demonstrate our commitment to
develop our talent, build our brands, and provide a solid foundation for
future growth," stated Vince McMahon, Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer. "We continue to believe that these investments will enhance our
ability to create new programs and to distribute all of our content in a
way that optimizes its value, through the renewal of key television
contracts and the potential launch of a WWE network." You can read the

      > BREAKDOWN OF REVENUE FOR EACH WWE DEPARTMENT
      - Eight of the ten WWE money-making departments made more money or remain
unchanged in the second quarter compared to the same quarter of the
previous year. Live Event revenues increased 13% to $40.1 million mainly
thanks to WrestleMania and Axxess, venue merchandise increased 28% to $6.9
million from $5.4 million, television revenues increased 17% to $38.0
million from $32.4 million, licensing, magazine publishing, and
WWEShop.com revenues remained unchanged with $6.7 million, $1.3 million,
and $3.1 million respectively, WWE.com revenues increased 27% to $6.1
million and WWE Studios registered $2.1 million versus $0.6 million in the
prior year quarter. Those in the "red" are pay-per-view revenues which
were $37.1 million as compared to $40.8 million in the prior year quarter
and home entertainment net revenues were $7.1 million as compared to $7.8
million in the prior year quarter.

      > FAN WHO ATTACKED ORTON DID IT TO "MAKE A NAME FOR HIMSELF"
      - The fan who attacked Randy Orton after his match during the tour in Cape
Town, South Africa, was identified as 20 year old Tshepo Sekhabi, a WWE
fan who (surprise, surprise) admits that he hates Randy Orton. In a report
by South Africa-based ENCA.COM, Sekhabi said that the attack was
premeditated in order to make a name for himself after he quit his job as
an admin clerk days before. "I just don't like Randy Orton, this was an
opportunity for me so I got up there and made a name for myself," the 20
year old said in a statement. He was given a five year ban from the casino
where the event was being held and was ejected out of the hotel and also
received a black eye and swollen face after Orton kicked him for his
trouble. WWE said that it's unlikely that they will press charges against
Sekhabi and Sekhabi himself said he doesn't plan to press charges against
Orton or WWE either for getting kicked in the face. Well, he deserved
      that. And more.

      > WRESTLEMANIA 29 FAILS TO MATCH BUYS OF LAST YEAR'S SHOW
      - The three pay-per-views that were screened during the second quarter of
this year all did less buys than what they did the previous year including
WrestleMania. WrestleMania 29 did 1,039,000 buys compared to the 1,217,000
that WrestleMania 28 did. Extreme Rules was down around 30,000 buys,
getting 231,000 versus the 263,000 of 2012. Payback did 186,000 buys, down
8,000 buys from the 194,000 the 2012 event did. In 2012 there was an
additional pay-per-view in the second quarter - Over The Limit - which was
not on the calendar this year. That show did 167,000 buys.

      > PHENOM EDITION OF WWE 2K14 GAME ANNOUNCED
      - 2K Games today announced the Phenom Edition of WWE 2K14, a special
edition which will be dedicated to the one and only Undertaker. The
limited edition will include a tin coffin box, a collectible art card
autographed by the Undertaker, an exclusive playable version of the
Undertaker in his American Badass gimmick, an Undertaker-themed controller
skin, as well as The Streak Blu-Ray/DVD. Anyone who preorders this version
of the game will also get The Ultimate Warrior as a playable character as
well. The Phenom Edition will cost $99.99.

      > TNA SIGNS NEW BIG TV DEAL IN INDIA
      - SONY SIX, India's premier sports entertainment channel has acquired
broadcasting rights to TNA Wrestling's full catalog of programming and
will air more than 500 hours of wrestling content across key Asian
markets. The channel will now air Impact Wrestling, Xplosion, Greatest
Matches and Unfinished Business, along with the four pay-per-views and the
eight One Night Only specials throughout the year. CEO Man Jit Singh said
that the company is proud to have acquired TNA Wrestling's rights as one
of their premium international sporting events. "TNA Wrestling has
garnered immense viewership internationally and we believe this
association further reiterates SONY SIX's commitment to airing high impact
      alternative sports in India."

      > THE ROCK LEAVES DOOR OPEN ON WRESTLING RETURN
      - Speaking to the Associated Press, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson said that he
is not shutting the door on his professional wrestling career but admits
that if he'd never wrestle again, he'd be very content with it. "Winning
or losing never really mattered to me," Johnson said as it was pointed out
to him he'd leave wrestling with a loss to John Cena. "The whole idea was
to put on a great match. Got injured in that match. Still was able to walk
out on my own, which I was more happy about. I don't know. We'll see.² The
Rock did indeed get injured halfway through his match against Cena,
tearing up his abductor and having to undergo a hernia operation that
prevented him from doing his media rounds around the world to promote his
Fast & Furious 6 movie. The injury also kept him out of the
post-WrestleMania RAW in red-hot East Rutherford, New Jersey, where the
plan was for him to go face to face with Brock Lesnar to set up another
      match for WrestleMania XXX.
