      - After a good showing on RAW WWE officials are playing around the idea
of having Shelton Benjamin added to the Backlash main event for later
this month, changing the main event once again this time to a fatal four
way with Benoit, HBK and HHH. One thing for sure is that it will be
interesting to see where Benjamin's career will go from here considering
similar angles always failed in WWE camp before, such as The Rock
putting over the Hurricane which resulted into no further storylines and
Triple H losing the IC title to Jeff Hardy, only to get it back a week
      later in a quasi squash.

      - The story of Austin hitting on his former girlfriend is getting some
kind of a new twist according to published reports. People close to the
former WWE champ has said that Austin acted in self defense after his
girlfriend Tess started throwing things at him during an argument at his
house. Apparently the two met to discuss their break-up and a hot
discussion led to his furious girlfriend throwing items at the
Rattlesnake. Austin quickly stopped the mess by shoving her down as she
cried foul and called 911 to report the incident.

      - The location for this year's SummerSlam has yet to be decided as the
company is trying to figure out which would be the ideal place. Tampa,
Toronto and Manchester, England are on the shortlist to host the event.
WWE Canada President Carl DeMarco is trying to get the event in either
the Air Canada Centre or the SkyDome. Meanwhile WWE officials seem also
interested to have the event held overseas, in Manchester England at the
Old Trafford Stadium. Considering the stadium holds more than 65,000 in
a normal soccer setting, it would hold around 10,000 more on the field.
However a decision will not be done until the next WWE UK tour in May.
One problem with holding SummerSlam in the UK is due to time difference
and with the power of Internet today results could be out just minutes
after the show is over which would certainly hurt the buyrates of the
PPV in the United States since it wouldn't air live.

      - Shane McMahon has been pushing to have his newborn baby as part of a
storyline on either RAW on Smackdown! It is not known in what kind of
storyline a couple of months old baby would fit in however the much
known McMahon ego seems to have struck once again. The baby made his
'debut' - if you want to call it like that - during the closing moments
of the opening video of WrestleMania XX in a scene with his dad and his
      grandfather proudly smiling.

      > STOCKS
      - Stocks closed the day at 17.04, the highest since the week before
      debut of the XFL. The day's range was 14.31 - 17.08. Sell...sell...sell!

      By Jason Clevett, [j_clevett@...]

I’ve been doing a lot of reflection lately. After seeing Wrestlemania at
MSG, it occurred to me that I have achieved all of my goals
involved with pro wrestling. That makes me a very lucky person and I am
thankful that I have had the opportunities that I have.

With that in mind, I have also had to reassess my priorities. Between
work, home, and writing commitments elsewhere, I am rapidly
running out of hours in the day. Something has to give.

Unfortunately it seems that something is Don’t Blame Canada.

I’ve thought about this a lot, because I love W-O. I have made some
great friends both in staff members and in readers. Each and
every time I got e-mail from you readers it made me smile, even when you
disagreed with me. It meant that you were reading and
took enough out of what I said to respond. The overwhelming support you
readers gave me when I suffered a loss of a family
member in December 2002, well, I don’t have the words to describe how
      much that meant.

The last four years have been a privilege. But it’s time to move on.

You can still keep tabs on me through SLAM!
(http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/home.html) As great as W-O is, Slam
allowing me the chance to broaden my horizons from “columnist” and
sharpen my writing to a format that allows me to write about
      topics aside from wrestling.

I’m not going to go on too much longer, I actually didn’t plan to write
anything but Colin felt that it was important that I say goodbye,
because often times people just stop writing without an explanation. I
just want to thank Colin “Goofy Maltball” Vassallo,
“Indecipherable” Ian Hamilton, Jeff “Becky” Beck , and Chris “RoH4Life”
Bernes,. You guys are beyond fellow staff, you are my
friends and I will keep in touch. As for the rest of the W-O staff that
I may not be as close to, but still respect, thanks for helping
make this newsletter something to be proud of.

      Except Ginger.

I had to throw in the dig, even if I don’t mean it. Hehe. My last Don’t
Blame Canada will run next week, the second half of the
Mania trip. I think it’s fitting for me to go out on a positive note,
reflecting on one of the greatest times in my life.

      Here’s to many, many more.

      Jason Clevett.
