      > ANGLE TO WORK MANIA, PLAN CHANGED IN FINAL HOURS
      - Kurt Angle has decided to suck in the pain and do what's best for the
company - work his WrestleMania match against Brock Lesnar. Several
reports indicate that Smackdown! was rewritten after Angle contacted
McMahon and told him he will postpone the surgery for a few weeks and
have one last match during the pay-per-view. The original plan as of the
end of last week had Lesnar winning the title from Angle on this
Smackdown! tapings and face Chris Benoit in the main event of
WrestleMania. Angle will not participate in any in ring action for the
next couple of weeks until the WrestleMania match, giving his neck some
time to heal and hoping to be in a good condition for one last run. It
may not be the wisest decision from Angle's part due to the seriousness
of his neck injury but the Olympic gold medalist feels he can have one
more match at the biggest PPV of the year.

      > RATINGS
      - As reported yesterday RAW did a 4.0 with a 6.1 share, off hours 3.8
and 4.2. That is a 0.5 drop from last week's show. In weekend ratings,
      Velocity did a 0.8 with a 1.3 share, Confidential did a 0.7 with a 1.5
share and Heat did a 1.0 with a 1.7 share. (Ratings compiled by Nielsen
Media Research and put online by 1wrestling.com)

      > WWE/UPN FINANCIAL DEAL REVEALED
      - The Hollywood Reporter did a story on UPN signing Smackdown! to a new
mutli-year deal yesterday. In the article it was stated that WWE used to
pay UPN $300,000 per week for their 8PM to 10PM timeslot on Thursday
nights and they would get all the advertising money during the whole
show. The new deal sees UPN getting all the money from advertising
during Smackdown! however they will pay WWE an estimated license fee of
$500,000 per episode produced. Considering the low ratings and soft ad
market, the new deal probably favors more WWE than UPN. Previously a 30
second spot during the show was sold between $15,000 and $25,000
depending the time chosen. On a side note, Viacom pays WWE around
$600,000 per episode to produce the live RAW every week.

      > STOCKS
      - Stocks closed the day at 7.89, no change from the previous closing.
      The day's range was 7.87 - 7.95.
