  • My theory? The Apple retail stores. They offer folks like this guy (below) a chance to feel comfortable (and excited even!) about making the switch. They feel like there's support out there for them. I got this in an email today from one of our older members (I work for a country club). He's in his late 70s and had told me that he was considering a Mac because once he added all the...

  • I open all my Word documents by dragging the file onto the Text Edit icon. This opens the file in Text Edit while keeping the formatting. When I copy and paste the document's contents from Text Edit into WordPerfect, the formatting remains. Good Luck! • Hi all.. I am getting ready to upgrade my G5 to Leopard. That means finally losing Classic. I have downloaded the Sheepshaver package (and have already successfully installed and used in on my MacBook laptop) but wonder if I should install it on my G5 now or wait until I've already installed Leopard? Or does it make any difference at all? Thanks for your help. This is one of the...

  • Thanks, George, for passing that along. I wrote to Ms. Opat today. Tina Gibson --- In wordperfectmac@^$1, "George B. Richardson" wrote: > > A colleague on another Mac user mailing list posted the following. I > urge those who wish to respond to the Corel rep to do so. > > George Richardson >

  • Thanks, John, for the easy SheepShaver install. I've been putting it off because it sounded so complicated, but now that I've got my WP3.5 running on my Intel MacBook, I'm forever indebted to you and your helpers for creating that install bundle. Now that I've installed, can I delete the SS-WP 1.1 distribution folder? I don't have a lot of disk space and every little bit helps...

I can't answer your question about how powerful your Mac must be to upgrade to Leopard, but if you do get new machines, the matter of moving your stuff over is simple: When you first turn your new computer on, you're given the opportunity to...
