  • Hi, Go back to 10.10? Hi. SheepShaver is broken in OS X 10.11. I installed the El Capitan beta and SheepShaver immediately crashes upon opening. I can send the report if anyone could use it. I’d hate to lose SheepShaver after all these wonderful years. Any thoughts? George Richardson...

  • Hi John, yes I'm aware of the difference, and automatic sleep works with WPMacApp on both of my PB Pros--one running 10.6 and one running 10.7. The App can be foreground or background--makes no difference, my machines(s) go into automatic sleep. The App is using After Dark, and it'll sleep separately when in the background (or foreground, if I walk away.)

  • Well, I'm just as much (or more) of a cynic as as anyone, but I don't see the paying public just caving for degraded service. Might take awhile (legal challenges?), but it seems to me the free market aspect of your argument *could* work the other way around too, and an ISP that doesn't degrade, but instead "upgrades" the pay-to-play companies, would end up with the customers. (Not...

  • "What ISPs are wanting to offer is the other side. A certain content provider wants their site to load faster than other pages - so they pay the ISP for this "Fast Lane" access. So no matter what speed the customer (end user) is paying for, if they visit the Fast Lane company's site - it loads much faster." So if I'm paying for 20Mbps through my ISP, that will be bumped up to, say...

  • A "FWIW": My trusty PB G4/7450 w/ OS 10.4.11--used for web surfing and keeping OS 9 alive--has new life now with the TenFourFox v.24b1 browser. News sites--especially ones loaded up with MBs of photos and banners, etc, like Huffpo--actually load and display now within a reasonable period of time! No more dial up type waits or blank pages or broken video. (v. 17.0.9 did not work...

  • I've been having the same issues lately with my PB G4 OS 10.4.11. Glad to hear it isn't just me! Thank you for the info, but what is the "third link" beyond "TenFourFox" and "MacTubes?" Jim Voelzow My PPC 1.25ghz G4, OS 10.4.11, was becoming unusable for much of the web. I found this fork of Firefox, optimized for PPC and 10.4, that accepts Firefox add-ons including those that can...

  • > I hope you'll visit at least once and, if you would, "Like" the page. This may help alert more people to its existence. I would be happy to if they didn't require me to register in order for my "Like" to count. Sorry to be such a "Luddite," but I have enough unwanted cyberspace grief without exposing myself to Facebook, Twitter, etc. :-) Glad to hear the files, etc., are still...

  • John, I avoid social websites like the plague, where does that leave me? Can I still access all the dialog and files without joining Facebook, which I absolutely won't do? That said, I want to thank you for all the work you do on behalf of loyal users of Word Perfect Mac. Please keep up the good work. • FWIW--I use WPMac App and WP Mac 3.5 (and Boot Camp for any unusual PC needs), but I still find the discussions re different options/applications for utilizing WP Mac interesting and informative. Seems on topic to me. Just my 2¢ Jim --- In wordperfectmac@^$1, Rick Albright wrote: > > Then would it be too much to ask that extended discussions (20+ messages and counting) be taken to...
